Administration

Town of Honea Path..  Mayor Meyers said he never gave much thought to running for city office, but, he recalls, "A group of citizens approached me about it, so when the seat became available, I decided to give it a try and run for council. I’ve never regretted the decision. It’s a great opportunity to give back to a community that has given me a great place to live and raise a family. Then while being Mayor - Pro-Tem, when the Mayor's position was vacated, I decided that it was the right time to run for Mayor.  "Mayor Meyers and his wife, Jean, have two grown daughters, Angela Ragsdale and Jackie Tyner and four grandchildren. Even though he is retired, he is hardly idle.  Mayor Meyers says, "I like to be involved and, I highly encourage others in the community to do the same. People can get involved in our town by attending council meetings, volunteering to serve on boards and commissions, or even by running for an available council seat. The more involved you are, the more you appreciate your community."
Lollis Meyers has been a leader in the Honea Path Community for many years. He was first elected to the Honea Path Town Council where he served sixteen years.  His fellow council members elected him as Mayor Pro Tem, in this capacity, he served fourteen  years.  He was elected Mayor in 1998.  Mayor Meyers is "excited about Honea Path's future and proud to be an active
part of the decision-making process." A retired twenty four year textile employee, he has seen many changes in the textile industry throughout the years.  He began in the industry sweeping floors and ended as a plant manager.  Changing careers, he was employed by the SC Vocational Rehabilitation

Department as a Maintenance Specialist.  He also is a former merchant in the
