The Honea Path Election Commission is comprised of three members: Ms. Betty H. Mitchell, Mr. Charles "Jim" Campbell, and Mr. Julian Drake, Chairman.

The duties of the committee are to oversee the election for the Town of Honea Path which is made up of three precincts.  The precincts are: Town of Honea Path Precinct which will vote at the Honea Path Middle School ,  Chiquola Precinct which will vote at Honea Path Elementary School.  The uniqueness about the town's election is the area covered crosses Anderson and Abbeville County lines.

The town elections are held in November. The Mayor and Council are elected on staggered terms every four years.

For the Town of Honea Path elections - the books are open for two weeks in mid-August for candidates to file.  The names are then certified by the state election commission and placed on the ballot for November. Elected officials take office the first council meeting after the election in November.
