BUSINESS LICENSE
Every person engaged in any calling, business, occupation or profession listed in the town's rate classification index within the incorporated limits of the town is required to pay an annual license fee and obtain a business license.
Any person opening a place of business or advertising any business, trade, or profession in the Town of Honea Path city limits must obtain an occupancy permit from the Town Hall, Clerk’s Office located at South Main Street, Honea Path. The office is open between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. A business license is required by the Town of Honea Path ordinance. A business license must be renewed annually. A license fees is based on gross receipts of your business for the year. Late fees do apply. For more information regarding business license, please call the Clerk’s Office, 864-369-2325.
How is the business license fee calculated?
License fees are based on gross receipts for the prior year. For new businesses, fees are based on estimates of gross receipts for the first year or portion thereof. Gross Receipts means the total revenue of a business, received or accrued, for those businesses located inside the town's limits. A $30.00 fee is charged for the 1st thousand dollars and an additional $1.10 per thousand for additional receipts.

Should a person be soliciting without a valid permit, he or she is subject to fines and/or arrest. If a violation is deemed to have occurred, a summons may be issued to the violating person and/or business.
Never pay or donate cash or valuables to a door to door solicitor, whether or not they appear legitimate. If a solicitor does not have a permit or appears fraudulent, contact the Town of Honea Path Police Department at 864-369-0580.
