The Belton - Honea Path Water Authority (BHPWA) is permitted to treat 4.0 million gallons per 24 hour day (MGD) and provide potable water to serve primarily in the towns of Belton, Honea Path in Anderson County and the Donalds - Due West area of Abbeville County. Current production is right at 2.4 MGD.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SET UP WATER SERVICE
A copy of your lease or purchase agreement.
A picture ID (driver’s license).
Your Social Security Card.
Deposit of a $100 fee
For same day connection of service, you must set up an account with our office before 11:00 a.m.
If you are an area business we will accept your Federal ID number instead of the Social Security Card.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY FOR A NEW TAP
The exact street address where the tap is to be installed and the name of the subdivision, if applicable. You will be asked to draw a diagram showing the location of the lot and the desired location of meter placement.
Social Security Card or Federal ID number (for businesses and contractors).
Your telephone number.
The tap size needed.
Payment of tap fee at the time of application.
WATER AND SEWER CONNECTION FEES
Effective July 1, 2000 , the Utility Finance Division will calculate fees for 3/4" water taps and 4" sewer taps. These taps apply only to single family residences. All other tap fees will be calculated by the Clerk’s Office.

GARBAGE COLLECTION
Business and Residential collection service is provided once a week on your designated day.
PICK UP DAYS
Monday - East side of Town;
Tuesday - South West side of Town;
Wednesday - Business;
Thursday - North West side of Town;
Friday - Business and Maintenance Day
Please place all household garbage and other miscellaneous trash inside your cart. Be sure to leave materials inside the container with the lid closed. Household garbage and trash placed outside of the cart, or in a container other than the cart provided by the Town, will not be collected. Place your roll cart out near the edge of the street with handle facing away from the street for collection by 7:00 am on your scheduled collection day. Please remove your cart from the curb after your collection as per Town Ordinance.
