Congratulations to Chief Jimmy Smith and the Honea Path FD/EMS on the delivery of a new Rosenbauer 75' Viper Aerial. The Department got a quick delivery by grabbing a truck already slated for production, but were still able to make changes to their liking. The truck comes on a Spartan Custom chassis with a 400 hp Cummins ISL engine. It carries a 1500 gpm Waterous CSUC10 pump and 400 gallons of water. The body is all aluminum and carries a variety of shelves and roll-out trays, SCBA bottle storage in the wheel wells and carries a Gillette 7.5kW generator on a roll-out tray. The Viper aerial has Rosenbauer’s exclusive hot dipped galvanized finish to insure longer life and has a fold down ladder at the tip as well as eyelets for rope rescue operations.
